I would not use that as a cultipacker to put in smaller seeds. It will get a lot of them too deep. Would be ok for small grain seed incorporation (wheat, barley, rye, oats). Prep with that tool and then sow your seed and then use a cultipacker to firm the seed in for a higher germination rate. Ken Sweet

Honestly I mainly leave it on for ballast.
I did use it a couple of years ago when I brought in some fill, leveled, and established some lawn.
Planted bermuda, worked great.

You are getting some good use from that tool as it is. I can envision a very similar tool with the scarifiers closer together in the front and a cultipacker at the rear that could be a awesome renovating tool. Ken Sweet

I've always kept my eyes open here local for a good heavy box blade cheap to make a pature renovator out of.
