Hi All,

I was just honing the cylinder on a Tecumseh LEV 115 360021C engine, when I discovered a very small hole in the side of the cylinder wall on the side of the valves a little more than half way down. It has oil seeping from it and I'd never seen this before. No mention of this in the tech manual and wondered if it was some kind of pressure lubrication port? Obviously can't use until I know if this is normal or damaged. Thanks in advance for any info!

I don't know, but does the hole go all the way thru the cylinder wall ?

How far from the top the cylinder is the hole, do the rings pass over this hole.?

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your reply. As far as I can tell, it doesn't go through the block and the hole is about 3" down in inside the cylinder from the top. I've never seen this before and rather than take a chance, I'm going to recycle the block. No sense in taking any chances.
Thanks again and take care.

Jim
