In general I think dogs and handling machetes are both more dangerous than coyotes.

Try telling that to a chicken.

Though it is quite possible that it is a dog, I don't think the tracks are too large for a coyote. A coyote should have tracks much larger than a coon but the coon tracks in this top photo look almost the same size as the others. Sometimes the real size is hard to tell from a photo.
