I've pulled many a shrub out with my CK25 gear simply by putting the box down on it with the teeth down. Probably won't work for all kinds of stumps but has worked every time I've tried it on aborvitae, yews, and redbuds. Sometimes takes two passes to get the front side to let go. You can also push over taller shrubs with the FEL, then turn around and use the box to finish pulling the up. Just last weekend I pushed over a 25' tall, 8" diameter healthy blue spruce. I was surprised how easily it went over.
