Got rid of the ornery tree roots finished up digging the ditch and got it all ready to lay the pipe.
Need to connect the 6'' rolled plastic corrugated pipe to a 6'' solid thin wall PVC pipe.

When I went to pick up the 100 foot roll of corrugated pipe I found out there ain't no fitting made to connect it to the 6'' solid thin wall PVC pipe.

Anybody else ever run into this problem?

Who knows how to connect these 2 pipes together?
HELPPPPPPP !!

I don't know of any mechanical fittings, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

I have seen concrete used to marry two dissimilar pipes together, that should last a good while /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Home Depot has a 6" connector that will connect a 6" cast sewer pipe to a 6" solid plastic sewer pipe, and I suspect it would work for your application.

If it's just for draining water, and is not a pressure line, than just butting them together with duct tape would hold them until a good tight packed dirt or gravel/sand could hold them forever. Or cut a plastic bottle and wrap that around with some hose clamps will work.

Also, the concrete will work too, as mentioned. Many many choices that will work.

If it were a pressure line, then that would be different.

Will one of the pipes slip inside the other? If so, yipee, just provide a few feet of overlap and duct tape the joint. If the corrugated is on the outside, the better solution would be a nice hose clamp. Of course a 2$ sack of quickrete dumped over the joint is pretty hard to beat. If you can't get the overlap then you are forced with wrapping the butt-joint real well with duct tape and then pouring the quikrete over it. You don't want the concrete inside the pipe.

This pipe is cheap, and a real connector may be expensive.

You could go to HD and buy a rubber boot with a clamp on either side of it. It's made for butting 2 things together which don't correspond with each other.

What I did for the 4" was to cut the black corrugated pipe with a few slits then slide it over the PVC and duct tape the heck out of it. A clamp would work also as mentioned above.

The other option that may work for you is to buy the 6" Tee fitting as it goes over the corrugated pipe if I recall which means it would probably go over the PVC as well then you could screw the T to the PVC. I used one of these T's on my 6" lines so that I would have a location to check on it as well as an air inlet during high flow times. I figured it gave me another location to snake a scope if I was ever having problems.

we use these Fernco fittings very often, for connecting ADS (corrugated black plastic) pipe to the green sdr-35 pipe, and also to white pvc. we use them for french drains and rain gutter drains. as long as it is not a pressurized application, they work great. 4" retails about 30 bucks i think.

Thanks for the info and link.
Wonder how long the rubber in these will last before it rots away?

it will last as long as the pipe will, probably longer if you are using the white pvc. the fittings are made of a very durable rubber, it is very soft and pliable, and stays that way. they really are an outdoor plumber's "dream come true"! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
