My neighbor is in the military in Germany, and his wife lost the key to his E14. I want to help resolve this issue before he gets home. Are these keys all the same? If so, does someone sell them? The switch looks like the generic automotive type that is held in place by a threaded bezel. Is this the case, and would the type that parts houses sell be appropriate? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I believe that any of the Massey Ferguson, Allis Chalmers tractors, that used Hinomoto or Toyosha engines will work. Most of these tractors are manufactured and imported from Japan...and use the same Key.

I bought spare keys for my MF 1020 and the key fits Hinomoto, AC5020 and Simplicity...all the same ignition switch.

I lost the key to my Hinomoto a while back, discovered it missing the day before I was supposed to help a buddy level his driveway. That was when I found out that the spare that I had entrusted to my wife was also missing ("What key?") The switch had always been loose, the key could come out when it was in the ON position.

I went to NAPA and got a new switch that even has an accessory position for $18. It fit OK in the hole but does not have the little peg that keeps it from spinning; if it is turned too far it will not be "centered" when turned off again.

About 2 weeks later one of the guys at work found the key in the lot... oh well!

Thanks for all the sources. The wife won't let me do anything until her husband gets home in a couple of weeks. I'll offer these options and see what he wants to do.
Thanks again,

If the same key fits Allis, MF, Hinomoto etc they might try an ACE / Truevalue hardware store too.

I needed a key for a $30,000 Toro commercial mower a few years back and they had one prepackaged on the shelf. All Toro mowers used the same key.

When he gets back give him our thanks for his service and thank his wife for her sacrifice too. Also thank you for being a good neighbor looking out for them. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
