According to the specifications at http://www1.sphere.ne.jp/delmundo,
I found the following size and weight specifications:

E2004 250Lx121Wx185H cm 1007 kg
E2304 253Lx122Wx187H cm 1024 kg

I would venture to guess that the difference in these tractors (3L x
1W x 2H cm and 37 lbs.) is the size of the tires and engine. Is this
true? I am buying an E2004, and I know the E2304 is similar to the
MF1030. Ultimately, can I say the same about the E2004? Are the
specifications flawed? I choose the E2004 because it had 215 hours
and a nice looking FEL.

I do not know what those dimensions are. I have the dimensions at work and will post them tomorrow. When we say that the 2304 is similar to the 1030, we mean real similar. Same engine, pretty much the same dimensions. The sheetmetal is different. The 2004 while similar to the 2304 is not a close match to the Massey 1030. One thing to also note is that Deutz Allis also sold the Hinomoto 2302/2304 with slight modifications as the DA5220. I am attaching an MF1030 picture.

You're correct. The engine and tire sizes are about the only differences. In fact, they share the same parts manual.

PS. The transmission is and wheels are also different from a 1030. I've seen an Allis Chalmers version and it appears to match it closer than a Massey.

I don't know why my picture didn't show up. Here are the dimensions.

E2004 L X W X H in centimeters
250 X 121 X 185 Wheelbase 144cm, weight 915 kilograms

E2304
253 X 122 X 187 Wheelbase 150cm, weight 931 kilograms

The PTO's are different on the Hinomotos versus the Domestic brands. The domestic brands have 2 stage clutches and a single speed PTO. The Hinomotos have a single stage clutch and usually a 4 speed PTO. My dad had a DA5220 and the Hinomotos I have had were a lot nicer than the 5220. The 2304 had a spring loaded seat and had guages on the dashboard where as his didn't. When you raised the hood the only difference was the placement of the battery and air cleaner. I once had the battery go dead on one of my 2304's that had a front end loader on it. You couldn't raise the hood with the loader down. Fortunately the battery on the 2304 is directly behind the grill and the grill has a lever that releases the grill to give access to the battery. Everything about the Hinomotos is layed out so well.

It sounds like I picked a winner, and it cost less then a Yanmar. I am also looking for a slightly larger tractor to run my Dad's 6' bushhog. What would be a similar model to an MF that is bigger than the E2304? What is the general succession of models built after the Exxxx series. There is so little information about Hinos on the internet...

I have a E264 with factory loader. My friend has an E2604. Both have been trouble free. I don't think either matches a Massey Ferguson but they're built like the E2304 AND 2004, just beefier.

Is the E264 a newer model then the E2604?

Here is the chronology of model numbers:

EXX or E23
EXXX or E264
EXXXX or E2004
NXXX or N189
