hi , i am looking for some info on the john deere lx178 kawasaki engine , over here in england they call it an FD 440V , K series 15 horsepower.
i have just got this as a project or a task , it is a non-runner , ihave cleaned it up and overall it isn't tooo bad , then i took the oil filler cap off ,to find it full of emulsified oil and water , while i go and have a beer and think what to do ,does anyone have a workshop manual that covers engine stripdown methods and settings . do you think it is head gaket or as somebody mentioned it could be a water pump seal ? how can i tell before i strip down the wrong bit .
any help will be gratefully received ,
