A huge thanks to those who contributes to this forum - I searched for more than six months before buying my tractor. Your insights and level of understanding of tractor-related issues are phenomenal! I first bought the tractor (Kubota L4400) to do our kitchen garden and the road, and I really like it. I bought a plow after giving up on plowing with the box scraper, and it works great. A couple of months ago I got pallet forks for it, and now everything on the property is starting to get onto pallets. It's a huge time saver. My next purchase will most likely be a rototiller.

I use a Ford, Series 101, 2-14" Turning Plow.
After plowing, you will likely find an adjustable, box-frame Disc Harrow as effective as a Rototiller, certainly cheaper new or used, mechanically simpler, more tractor fuel efficient and faster over the garden/field. My "kink" is alway, always seeking the simplest solution, and a Disc Harrow is certainly simple. ( Also, the easiest implement to mount on the three point hitch. )
However, if you are going to open a small size garden in unplowed ground, the Rototiller may be better depending on how friable your soil is.
How big an area did you plow? Single bottom plow or a two bottom plow? What kind of soil do you have?
I went through Navy Recruit Training in San Diego in 1965, but during my eleven week San Diego visit I did not have an opportunity to observe soil conditions. The Marines, undergoing Recruit Training on the other side of the fence, seemed to have ample opportunities to check out San Diego soil while digging foxholes.
Others will CERTAINLY have different opinions on Disc Harrow Vs. Rototiller, always a controversial comparison on T-B-N.
