Hi Everyone! I'm 15 years old and we currently don't own any tractor yet, (unless you count an old broken down riding mower) but my parents are investigating getting one in the future.

Yes, I'm waiting for the sky to open up and a Kubota BX2660 to drop out along with a FEL, 60" MMM, Trac-Vac, and some sort of dump trailer...;)

Welcome...here's hoping the sky opens up for you..meanwhile, enjoy reading what others are doing... also, may I humbly suggest spending some time on the Safety forum....the rest of us do and continue to learn....a wise thing when everything you do in farming involves something that is heavier, sharper, faster, stronger, harder than you are. Your only advantage is using what is between your two ears and your eyes.

Me and my dad are going out to the Kubota dealer this weekend!!! (not to buy it :( )

Hooray...

and, just to emphasize my safety point in prior post...today I prevented a turn over because I was going SLOW and had my hand on the FEL handle....thus, was able to drop my 2800 lb concrete culvert load on FEL when I was going over what was essentially level terrain but it was pocked with some irregularities.... one wheel went up while an opposing wheel went down... and a rear wheel left the ground...until I dropped the FEL load...

Point is, I knew I was near limit of the tractor and was prepared to take remedial action immediately if things went south....and, by repositioning the tractor I was able to pick up the load and complete the move.

Be safe out there.:)

Well, we seemed to have a change of plans...Now we're thinking about the BX25. Going out to the dealer tomorrow to test drive the BX2660.

Compact, you get my vote of respect... you are involved, engaged in learning about the tractors available, reading about them, trying them out, thinking safety, etc.... a grand start and I am sure you will continue these good habits as your tractoring expertise expands:thumbsup:

500th post!!! Front Porch, here I come!!!

I am sorry to inform you, but after an ongoing discussion, we have decided to close the front porch until such time as the weather improves, likely sometime this spring. However, in the event you do find the light switch to restart the light at the end of the tunnel, please do bring a jacket, a flannel blanket and a good supply of hot chocolate.
