Case 580c
I recently purchased a 1981 case 580c and it only goes in reverse. I have changed the fluid checked the pick up screen and still just reverse. I am looking at rebuild kits and wondered, given that it goes into reverse perfectly and without slippage is there any reason to replace the converter and pump? Any direction would be appreciated.

:welcome: to TBN.
You may have better luck seeking info if you post in Case-IH or Parts/Repair section.

I could easy have typed this also but chuckled at your post due to the last words... "Any direction would be appreciated." Well you have reverse so does that mean you are now, OKAY?

Have you verified the linkage is connected and working? I would begin there. Don't just assume it is shifting be sure any rod is moving as it should when linkage is moved.

Well reverse is nice, :) two directions would be greater appreciated. I took the linkage off and rotated it manually made no difference.
