Howdy folks,
Just found & joined your forum boards. Located on 10 acres of the 79 acre family farm with lots of rough land 5 acres of which are under leased tillage by one of our local large farmers. They also tend the balance of the farm land under my nephews ownership.

Looking for a SCUT loader backhoe to cleanup some bottom land of trees & brush, I found an MT 125 used at the LS dealers in Concord NC. Bought it in November and learning it's kinks & quirks.
in leveling some mudland and digging out small tree stumps. One thing I quickly realized is how tippy it can be on uneven ground having no ballast in the tires and the very narrow chassis width.
!st thing I'm looking for is 2" spacers for the rear wheels and 2nd is ballasting the tires. I've bought an LED light bar facing front and 2 ditch lights (back side) to hang on the rops bar by mounting on isolator rubber mounts into a 4 foot piece of aluminum T-track. Rubber mounting should take care of the vibration of the tractor and mounting the t-track with U-bolts around the rops bar will maintain the integrity of the bar strength.

Sooooo, greetings and salutations from central metrolina. Looking forward to conversations with others here.

Welcome aboard neighbor. Congrats on the tractor and getting some great seat time. Its always fun to find ways to get -r-done with a tractor... :)

I opted not to do the filled tire ballast thing. I built a ballast box when I need it. Took a 55 gallon barrel put in a drawbar rod through it, put in some 4" pvc pipe down into it Capped it and filled it with cement. It had 1000 # of cement and I can add some extra shovels/rakes etc as needed.

I use that when I'm in heavy duty lifting mode. Most times I have a flail mower or even my tiller to act as the ballast.

I do a lot of garden work and didn't want the constant compaction in the rows. Even though every few years I still need to run a chisel plow/subsoiler to break things up.
