I was running east on PA route 30 crossing the Susquehanna river at Columbia last week when I came up behind a old white pickup truck with Texas farm truck plates. I was trying to imagine what the heck he was doing way up here? Maybe he ran into town to get some bailing twine and somehow made a wrong turn and by golly just like me he hates to stop and ask directions. Or maybe he was headed north to join the first family in Kennebunk port. What do you think?

Isn't he just in the northern part of the Texas panhandle?

Well, if he has his map then he was probably wondering what you were doing in Texas. :D :D

Even folks who drive Country Cadillacs go on vacation occasionally to foreign lands.

Crossing the Susquehanna? He was probably just an ol' Texas farmer wanting to see a river that actually has some water in it. Pretty dry down here.:(

Many years ago, the family and I took a vacation to upstate NY to visit relatives in my new airconditioned 1967 pickup. Back then we rarely saw a pickup north of the Mason-Dixon line. The service station guys (still around in those days) sure gawked at it. I had a ball driving through NYC in it.

I think a few of the other drivers were sure that we were lost with our Texas plates.
