Hey Everyone,

For my B3030 my manual says I should use an engine oil with an API classification of CF because I use high sulfur (off road) diesel. It also tells me the type for the temp, SAE 10W-30, 10W-40 etc. My problem is I can't find an API CF engine oil anywhere I've have looked this morning (ACE Hardware & Auto Value). My closest Kubota dealer is over an hour away, so I wanted to just get the oil off the shelf somewhere to do my 100 hour oil change. What brand of oil do you guys use? Does it have the API CF classification? If it does, where do you find it besides the dealer? Thanks for the help!

WalMart, Sams, Costco, Autozone, Tractor Supply, etc. all have Rotella "T" diesel motor oil.

I don't have a Kubota, but here's my 2 cents.

I run Shell Rotella T (15w40) in every diesel engine I own. Many people on tractorbynet will vouch for it. We use it at work in our Series 60 Detroit diesels, My Ford powerstroke diesel, my diesel generator, My Mahindra 2015... etc. I've never had an engine problem in anything. Also, I use the 15w40 all year long. (upstate NY). I run offroad fuel in my mahindra, and the oil comes out the same color as when it goes in, (OK, maybe a little darker!)

Rotella is compatible with all the new low sulpher fuels and emmisions standards, and is backwards compatible as well. It's available at Napa, wal mart, just about everywhere.

There are many others out there too. I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses.

CF or better is probably what they mean.

I think a ci4/+ is probably what's easy to find on the shelfs now.

10w30 diesel oil is hard to find. but out there. 15w40 is more common.

Thanks for the replies, keep them coming. I need an oil for 0 to 32 deg F as I am in Upper Michigan, any recommendations?

I don't have a Kub- either, but use Rotella T synthetic 5w40 in my Kioti 3054TLB year around. It gets quite cold here in So. Maine during the winter, so I use a lower hose heater from NAPA to assist with the cold starts

CF is just a bit obsolete and Kubota seems to stay behind in updating their manuals. As long as the first letter is a C and the second letter is farther along in the alphabet than E, you'll be fine. I used Chevron's Delo 400 in the 15W-40 weight, and everyone I knew with both diesel tractors and trucks used either the Delo or the Shell Rotella.

I run Mobil 1 10w-30 year round in mine with no trouble so far!!

Mobile 1 10w30 is CF rated. So is Wolf's Head 10w30 (regular oil).

Yes, CF or better.
