I have a ford 2000 1964

serial on the tractor says it's a 144 cid diesel

I spun a rod bearing and destroyed the crankshaft. I decide to rebuild and the motor and replace the crank since no one could turn it. Anyway I order everything for the 144 and nothing is right rings too small crank to stroked

So i came to the conclusion the motor has been changed over the years.

I have been trying to figure it out.

it's 4 cyl diesel

Here is the info I have casting number on the block d2nl 6015L

there is also a number stamped by the timing cover d3-jl-607-L

the bore size is 4 1/8 inches

the piston have 2 compression rings and 1 oil ring, the set I ordered had 3/1

I have already dropped a crap load in the parts hoping I can return them.

I really like the tractor and hope I don't have to junk it.

I believe the 144 had a bore size of 3.56 so you can rule the 144 diesel out, they were hard to get parts for anyway. the 172 had a bore of 3.90 and the 192 had a bore of 4.13. I am not familiar with the diesel block codes but i do have three 192 gassers and they all end with a K. So with an L block (not a 100%) but with that bore I would lean towards the 192. I would mic the bore because 1/8 is .125.

seems like everything I find for a 192 is a 3 cyl :thumbdown:
