Hesston 5600 bales problems

I went out to bale today with all new belts in place. The baler would not make a bale, Most of the time the hay would shoot right outwith the top belt, instead of rolling. I have know problem, with picking it up, putting it into the bale chamber. The problem is getting it rolling before it shoots out, any ideas.
When I do get it rolling the belts usuall start squealing,

We have a Case baler that uses belts, and I usually have trouble getting the first bale of the season started rolling after the baler has been sitting all winter - seems the surface of the belts need to get worked a little to get traction on the hay. This could be the same for new belts, they need to get "seasoned" a bit?

If the belts are squealing, that's means they're slipping...
