Hi,

We have had this gold cart for about 30 years. My granpa picked it up to use around the farm. It still runs but the engine leaks gasoline and generator does not work. The Kohler engine is shot and will need a complete overhaul. Also the starter generator and voltage regulator also needs to be rebuilt. I plan to get this fixed up and usable for us to enjoy with our kids. I have been thinking that I would like to replace the Kohler with a Honda GX240 electric start to make it a more reliable. I have been talking to some guys I know and someone told me that he saw one sell for over 10K in similar condition. I am not sure I believe that but it makes me wonder if I should take out the Kohler or not. I am not planning on selling it no matter what the value but if that is true it would make sense to spend the time and money fixing up the original equipment.
Anyone have any thoughts or information on what this could be worth?

As a youth, The Herter's outdoors equipment catalogs were part of the household reading. Herter's branded products were often labled "Model Perfect" as a unique descriptor.

I was hoping someone else (you perhaps) was familiar with the theme.

Lots of good gunning, hunting and fishing products came out of that "All Minnesota" outfit.
