I haven't been around TBN for about three weeks. I'm surprised this has no replies in two days! May your chains sit lightly upon you!!!!!

How to make a difference? Know you Creator. Understand your Constitution. Teach your children and yourselves to look beyond your own immediate needs.

May that simple statement of truth not merit censorship on this valuable board.

And thanks, RaT. The link will be distributed appropriately.

I watched this the other day and didn't respond. This goes along with," for those who fight for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know". My problem now is watching all these people who are against Bush and the Iraq war. They ruined many GI's (through politics) during the VN war, which could have been won BTW.. This country has a very short memory and no patience.

I wasn't going to respond but I will. I am afraid it's preaching to the choir though. This forum seems to be a much different outlook on things than the rest of the public(THANKFULLY)

Sepetember 11th was just 2 years ago and the publics interest is already faultering. They want their stock portfolios and retirement accounts back on track and that's their only real concern. Once they rebuild the story will sadly die a slow death.

As far as the "war", sorry but I am afraid there never will any war worth fighting for according to the American public. They are a soft lot. Thankfully this (mine included)generation didn't have to fight WW I or WW II or we would surely have lost.

You turn on the news and they act horrfied that troops might have to stay up to a year fighting in a foreign country. Gee, I wonder how long those guys were freezing in Europe in the 1940's. Not to make light over the stresses our troops indure but it must be many times better than any conditions ANY soldiers have ever fought under. Sure it's still bad but what did the public think war and an occupation is like? The public seems to think that wars are fought like 2 week business trips to a foreign country.

I feel for those who have relatives in Iraq but when I hear folks whining that they haven't been able to email each other in a couple of days or a week I want to break the TV. These are soldiers fighting against people who want to kill them this isn't vacation. It's hard not to feel for the parents but some act like they should be able to communicate as freely and a have the smae vacation time as if their son was at some Community College? I understand this isn't a war of the same magnitude of some past conflicts but were you constantly barraged with media reports complaining that some troops were going to be in Europe for a whole year in 1944?

Like Bush, hate Bush it doesn't matter any conflict won't be worth figthting in many of the publices eyes. Most folks won't even stand up for themselves so I don't expect them to support this country against ANY foe.

When I was a kid I can remember going with my father to NFL games and if you didn't remove your hat during the anthem someone would suggets you do it and then help you remove if you still needed motivation. The first sporting event I took my son to 5 years ago was quite a contrast and indicative of how times have changed. I went to go to my seat and several men were sitting in the aisles where my seats were , each man also had a young son with him. I asked what happened and they said that people were sitting in their seats. It just happened to be a group of Arab men who had refused to leave "their" seats. Well......... they moved and we all sat, but I think that sums up a fairly typical lack of backbone that I see all the time. It appears that not to long after arriving in this country many foreigners quickly realize that the average American is easily cut in line, nudged out of a seat on the subway, etc. etc.

The average American while quite aggressive in some areas like when behind the wheel of a car is not very willing to aggressively stand up for themselves ( so you can forget about them standing up for others or an ideal). They will scratch and claw for the next promotion or sale but that's it.

Thankfully there are still those who are willing to volunteer to go fight and die for them in far off places.

September 11th will be forgotten much like Pearl Harbor Day...do teachers even mention that in school? Ask your kids this year, see if it's mentioned, even money says NO!

I never know what to say about something like this. It causes a great pain in my soul that so many Americans are so self centered they have seemingly forgotton. Criticisms of the President. Howe can any 1 man do better ? Who could be prepared better ? I feel he has stood well and served well. Watching gave me chills and If it does not stir the blood of patriots to watch then in my minds eye those who are so caleous are simply not Americans. Not to me. Not to those who died. Not to those who give their lives to protect our freedoms. It is not the Press or the protester who protects our freedoms of speech and expression but the soldier. May we never forget. May our children never forget. Dave

F350Lawman:

Life is cyclical - personally and whole civilizations. You are born, grow up, learn, struggle, have some success, get "fatter" and softer, get older and weaker, decay and finally die either quickly or slowly.

The world's been through all this before. It's working a bit faster than it did in Rome, 2000 years ago. Everything you say is true but inevitable. The west peaked out 100 years ago. You use debt as money, you believe everyone has a right to vote, you go to church and hear preachers telling you that you are your brother's keeper, etc. etc. etc. Why should you wonder why we are weaker and weaker?

Rat ... I had to get your post back up top !!

Something that always troubles me is that my generation ( the under 40 crowd ) has never really seen the adverse conditions of our parents or grandparents and the work that they had to do to get us where we are today. With WWI, WWII, Korea, etc, the country was constantly reminded of the work and struggle required to maintain a free and open lifestyle that we hold so precious. VietNam seemed to be some turning point in this country. Folks seem to take for granted that our society is and always will be the way it is.

9/11 may have opened some eyes, but all of us 'under 40's need to also take a good hard look at the cost of the freedom we have. Learn from history and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made on our behalf.

I once worked with an Iranian who emigrated to the US at the age of 26 after serving several years in the Iranian military. He would always say to me..."you don't know how lucky you are to live in the U.S." It took awhile to get it, but now I feel that I do know how lucky I am !!

Very moving.
How many of our peers believe it? How many of our children are moved? How many are to involved when the Star Spangled Banner is played? How many shed a tear when the flag is raised?
May God have mercy on our country.

Sometimes I wonder about that. I wonder if we really are some sort of minority. It seems to me that most of the supposed dissention in this country is really just a liberal media focusing on the negative all because there's an election coming. What a pitiful reason to abandon your country and your soldiers.

**** our forefathers were some smart fellows. More people need to pay attention to what they said.
