I haven't been around TBN for about three weeks. I'm surprised this has no replies in two days! May your chains sit lightly upon you!!!!!

How to make a difference? Know you Creator. Understand your Constitution. Teach your children and yourselves to look beyond your own immediate needs.

May that simple statement of truth not merit censorship on this valuable board.

And thanks, RaT. The link will be distributed appropriately.

I never know what to say about something like this. It causes a great pain in my soul that so many Americans are so self centered they have seemingly forgotton. Criticisms of the President. Howe can any 1 man do better ? Who could be prepared better ? I feel he has stood well and served well. Watching gave me chills and If it does not stir the blood of patriots to watch then in my minds eye those who are so caleous are simply not Americans. Not to me. Not to those who died. Not to those who give their lives to protect our freedoms. It is not the Press or the protester who protects our freedoms of speech and expression but the soldier. May we never forget. May our children never forget. Dave

F350Lawman:

Life is cyclical - personally and whole civilizations. You are born, grow up, learn, struggle, have some success, get "fatter" and softer, get older and weaker, decay and finally die either quickly or slowly.

The world's been through all this before. It's working a bit faster than it did in Rome, 2000 years ago. Everything you say is true but inevitable. The west peaked out 100 years ago. You use debt as money, you believe everyone has a right to vote, you go to church and hear preachers telling you that you are your brother's keeper, etc. etc. etc. Why should you wonder why we are weaker and weaker?

Rat ... I had to get your post back up top !!

Something that always troubles me is that my generation ( the under 40 crowd ) has never really seen the adverse conditions of our parents or grandparents and the work that they had to do to get us where we are today. With WWI, WWII, Korea, etc, the country was constantly reminded of the work and struggle required to maintain a free and open lifestyle that we hold so precious. VietNam seemed to be some turning point in this country. Folks seem to take for granted that our society is and always will be the way it is.

9/11 may have opened some eyes, but all of us 'under 40's need to also take a good hard look at the cost of the freedom we have. Learn from history and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made on our behalf.

I once worked with an Iranian who emigrated to the US at the age of 26 after serving several years in the Iranian military. He would always say to me..."you don't know how lucky you are to live in the U.S." It took awhile to get it, but now I feel that I do know how lucky I am !!

Very moving.
How many of our peers believe it? How many of our children are moved? How many are to involved when the Star Spangled Banner is played? How many shed a tear when the flag is raised?
May God have mercy on our country.

( This forum seems to be a much different outlook on things than the rest of the public )

Sometimes I wonder about that. I wonder if we really are some sort of minority. It seems to me that most of the supposed dissention in this country is really just a liberal media focusing on the negative all because there's an election coming. What a pitiful reason to abandon your country and your soldiers.

**** our forefathers were some smart fellows. More people need to pay attention to what they said.

Sometimes I wonder about that. I wonder if we really are some sort of minority.

If we are not, we may as well be.

The wave of political correctness has caused so many to be silent we are effectively a 'minority'. People speak in hushed tones regarding concepts that this nation was based on as if it is something to be embarrassed about. It simply isn't politically correct to put the citizens of this country first. Forget about any established moral values, that's now taboo to even talk about.

The average decent hard working citizen has no voice while every special interest is bending a politicians ear.

We were just attacked on our on soil and we can't even get some immigration reform or try to really secure the borders. I listen to all this homeland security talk and the same politicians can't give drivers licenses, ID cards, tuition breaks, etc. to ILLEGAL aliens fast enough. The student visas are another winner, that's just what we need more Middle Eastern students???? Sorryt that's not PC but when Irish or Japanese guys start blowing up planes I'll rethink those srudent visas as well. In the year following 911 we allowed MORE immigrants from the Middle East than the year before 911. Now that's logic for you! No, we want to prove how fair we are and show that we have no bias so we knowingly continue policies that are detrimental to OUR cause. It's the same at the airport where they stop white haired Grandmas just to prove were not profiling.... can you say waste of time?

Why, because the Pols quake at the thought of losing the immigrant vote. They will trade safety for a few votes. The can count on almost ZERO backlash from the public because your labeled a racist if you don't think everyone should be able to waltz into YOUR country and be the beneficiaries of the various social programs, all paid for by LEGAL U.S. CITIZENS tax dollars.

In NY, Mayor Bloomberg recently said that he didn't think we were ready to take up the issue of giving non-citizens the right to vote. What issue??? How dare he even consider the concept. The same Mayor has also curtailed the reporting and enforcement of any immigration laws in a city that just had 3000 people murdered by the same people who we now say we are trying to keep out of the country.

So nothing has really changed, when I was a cop in NYC pre-911 we would arrest people for other crimes who happened to be here illegally and when we reporting it to INS the would take your name and that was it. These people where here illegally, committing crimes, already in custody but never once did the come and get any of these people. You would think that would be a"ground ball", nope they had no interest.

I would have thought after 911 any interaction with the police, even a speeding ticket would result in an immigration status check and immediate action for those here illegallly, but that makes TOO much sense.

The world is nuts or maybe it's just me? I really wish it was just me, that would easier to accept and I would be more hopeful about the country my children will inherit.

Thanks

I watched the link, but didn't respond. It spoke for itself. No one could watch it without being moved. I have not forgotten 9/11, and never will. I have not gotten over my anger at the terrorists and their stupidity, and probably never will, no matter what happens to them. The Heros I will never forget are the ones who took down the flight in Pennsylvania and prevented even more disaster - I doubt I could be that brave.

When we took action in Afghanistan, routed out the Taliban and Al Queda and searched for bin Laden, I cheered.

I love this country, have read the Constitution just for enjoyment as well as study, sing the words every time the National Anthem is played, take note every time I see the Flag displayed, support the troops and consider myself a Patriot.

But, TBN is not a political site, so I will reserve my comments about Vietnam, Iraq and the current President. Suffice to say there are legitimate opinions that differ.

Yep, things do change. When I first started in local law enforcement, we "arrested" every illegal immigrant we encountered, whether or not there were any other charges. And early every morning two guys from the INS came in a van to pick up all those we'd rounded up in the last 24 hours that we weren't holding on other charges. And then we got a (liberal?) U.S. Attorney General (see if you remember who that was - was it 1974 or 1975?) who decided that only the INS could enforce immigration laws and local police could not legally arrest illegal immigrants just for being here illegally.
