We live off the east end of Lake Ontario, at the foot of the Tug Hill Plateau. Last year we measured 220 inches of snow. It snowed every day from Halloween until February 1st, with a brief break around Xmas. Eleven miles away from our home , in Barnes Corners NY, they were blessed with over 300 inches. Twenty-five feet.

A Curtis Cab for my BX arrived this week at the dealer, and I suspect it will be installed next week or the week after.

I love smfcpacfc's rig. That setup is a thing of beauty.

So, why live where so much of the white stuff happens? We're from here, we're rural, we have our Place on Earth, we have a nice garden area and fruit trees, and we both have reasonable health. And we like the seasons. Some times making do with what we have is good enough.

I love the snow even though I don't ski or own snowmobile! Among other things it keeps the population down around here. There's also just something about a good hard blizzard or sub zero temperatures that puts the vigor in life.

I don't live where I'm at in spite of the seasons. I live here because of the seasons.
