herculiner life expectency?????????

got a couple of projects and was thinking this may be the way to go. any experience with this product? life span? thanks, johnny

I used in on a metal ladder rack I built for my pickup. The coating was a little thin on the rack because I couldn't roll it on the small tubing. I painted it in 2002 and for the most part the stuff is still on the rack. Some of the thin coverage areas did start to rust a couple years ago. The herculiner on the top bars of the rack only lasted less then a year or so with sliding boats, lumber, ladders onto the rack.

I used an under-body (splatter) spray gun to paint herculiner on several projects. Using the spray gun, I was able to get it around 1/8"-3/16" thick.

If your projects are going to be in the sun, I recommend the UV protectant available.

Did the bed of my 2003 Ranger myself when it was new, so far it's held up quite well. I Don't baby my stuff, have hauled many loads of "stuff" over the years with minimal affect. And, the non-slip surface makes the bed much more user-friendly. I think you'll be happy.
