Tractor
2016 Kioti 2610HST
Hey guys sorry I am just looking for a schooling on my new 2016 kioti CK2610 HST tractor. So this is my first tractor I bought it used and want to change all the oils so couple things I am struggling with is this HST trans. So I see there are 2 filters one trans one hyd so are they the same filter as in I can just buy 2 of the same or are they different? I see the dipstick at the back rear end of the tractor is that for the hyd/Tran or is there a separate dip stick for the each? I got all the rest of my service done just not sure on this hyd/trans part of it where I drain the fluid and fill. So for the dumb questions I just have never had a HST trans before

Congrats on the machine.
The two filters hyd. and HST are completely different.
Your dealer will get the two for you.
The dip stick in the back is for the total content of fluid.

FYI, unplug the fuel filter water sensor and if filter change out is not due; draining the water is just a good practice every 25-50 hours depending on your fuel quality in your area.

Sent you a PM.

If your manual says the total capacity is 22L, that means dry (for wet-up purposes). Just like when changing your engine oil, not all of it will drain. Recommend putting 20L in (whilst the tractor is sitting on a flat surface) and then waiting 'til the next day to 'top up' according to the dipstick.

Obtain the operator痴 Manual . I wonder how the manual was lost from a 2yr old machine . Odds are you are wasting time and money changing those two systems . Just put new filters on and run it .

Well I have no manual and no record of oil changes but tractor is next to new with shade over 70hrs. I get Mobil oil for free from work so I don稚 mind changing out the oils for new and gives me a peace of mind. So all I need to pay for is filters real. I really do love this tractor and want to keep it for a lot time.

In that case go and get a new Owners Manual.

Maintenance schedules and procedures are spelled out. Oil(s), coolant and lubricant specifications are spelled out. Filter specification. Grease nipple locations. Tyre pressure. Torque for lug nuts. Fuse panel & fuse ratings... the list goes on...

It's pretty much all in that manual. Buy one.

Change out just the filters on the HST transmission for now. Skip the 'equivalent filters routine for the transmission. Go to MIE, ( Michigan Iron & Equipment and have them ship you the correct filters). At 70 hours you're just wasting time and money changing out HST fluid, if the existing fluid is clear. If for some reason its milky color then its contaminated. Otherwise leave it for now. IT is NOT oil, BTW, it IS Universal Transmission Fluid, (UTF). It takes ONLY UTF and nothing else. It needs to meet or exceed wet brake and clutch specs too.
Get a owner's and service manual for the tractor, then read both and start following threads about your tractor on TBN.

I've NEVER changed out the HST fluid on recommendation of my dealer, (who's older than dirt:eek:) and has seen everything come down the pike. He is not wrong about this. The filters, IF changed when required catch almost everything that passes through. The magnetic drain plugs catch the rest. I've got over 1500 trouble free hours on my 2 Kioti DKs over the last 9 years.

If you are going to be leaving your fluid in, I would suggest getting an oil sample analysis to be sure its still up to snuff. usually costs around $30. A visual inspection does not cover all that is of concern. Viscosity and film strength can deteriorate and are very important. As well as any other chemicals that may have been introduced to the system, that will not be filtered out.

My personal preference is to change the oil after the first 50 hours.
