Buying Advice Help with serial number

I have a chance to buy a Mahindra 3510. The serial number is
3510 Y03 00738. I have tried to find a breakout of these numbers and what they refer to. Any help? It was made in S Korea and is a 4WD, 4 cycle diesel. Its a private sale and comes with a 2346QT Bush Hog FEL, SQ720 BH mower, Howse 6ft Box Blade, 3PH Carry-On, and a Top Hat 16ft trailer. They want $8500. What do ya'll think? Thanks in advance.

I looked at that page and still don't know when it was manufactured..although I realize the year isn't that important, I'd still like to know. This is a classic case of stumbling on the recent widow with the great tractor in the barn for sale...

My guess is, Y03 00738 indicates the tractor is the 738th 3510, built in 2003.

By the way, I believe you are in Normangee, Texas.

Thats the logical conclusion, but the seller thinks it was bought in 2006. Thanks for the spelling correction. Actually the place we're buying is closer to Leona, but the address comes up as NormangEE. I hope to get a little help from you guys on this forum as I convert from the suburbs to the country life. Thanks in advance!

Yes it has a Bush Hog 2346 QT.

Whats a good range of service hours for a

The hours will show on the dash. Most compact tractors get used 50-100 hours a year, so most 2005 tractors will have 250-500 hours. Of course if it was used commercially, it could have 500 + hours a year. I like to think that 5000 hours on a newer compact tractor is like 200,000 miles on a newer car or truck. Still some life left if cared for at 5000 hours, but getting worn out. That being said, we occasionally see a compact with well over 5000 hours doing fine, and we see some with 1500 hours that are beat. I care about condition more than hours.

The 3510/4110 had a habit of clogging the radiator quickly when mowing dry stuff. Seems the radiator fins were just right to catch stuff. To make cooling better, some have lowered the battery between the frame rails and they say it helps. Also, check the 4 bolts that attach the front axle to the frame, some of the early units were prone to those loosening. Every tractor has something to check it seems.
