My Bush Hog 235 rotary mower is about 10 years old and I decided to replace the blades. After "soaking" the nuts, they finally came off. BUT, the bolts won't come out. Could it be that they are threaded in the "holder". I need some help here please!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea about your particular model, but all the ones Ive seen you put the nut back about 3/4 on to protect the threads. Then smack them straight out with a BIG hammer. Tapping with a small one just tends tomake them mad. Just like a taper pin if your gonna drive it out,,, DRIVE it dont tap it.

Art,
I think "Pat?" is right on. My BushHog "Squealer 60" blade bolts need some encouragment to come out, too, but they aren't threaded into the holder. They are a little awkward to pound on directly, so I use a 7" piece of heavy duty rebar with a 2" diameter washer welded flat on one end. I place the washer end on the loosened blade nut and whack the other end with a small sledge hammer. Works well.

I was trying to find your parts diagram, figuring it would tell whether threaded or not, using the following link, but couldn't find your model number. Maybe you will have more luck.
