I'm in the middle of replacing the upper, front oil seal, part "A" or 060 from this old thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/123302-need-help-w-kubota-l3710.html I've gotten the bevel gear housing off the axle. However, unlike the the in post #7, the old seal stayed with the housing rather than on the axle. 20170513_141457_zpsacxgkbn4.jpg
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the old seal out without damaging the housing or the bearing? I tried gently prying on it but can't get it to budge.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Few days late responding; just saw your post. What does the other side of the assembly look like? Flip it over and take another picture.

Use something to protect the top of the casting (thin piece of wood) and pry it out with a prybar. Work around the seal. Be careful not to damage the inside bore with the prying tool.

google "bearing puller"
and/or
google "slide hammer"

have, taken a piece of lumber across a bearing, and tapped a new bearing into place. bearing could be in there pretty good.

bearing puller might work, and same with slide hammer.

have found myself in situations, were a bearing puller would not work and needed a slide hammer, and vice vs.

i have also completely destroyed an old bearing to get it out, to point of darn near cutting it up in pieces. but would suggest getting a puller and/or slide hammer to pull it. once you start banging the old bearing up. it can be more troublesome trying to get a good hold of it with a puller or slide hammer to pull it out.

as much as i dislike the tools i have for "multi purpose" pullers, and you can flip them different ways to pull stuff. they get the job done. but because they are multi purpose, some of the extra stuff on the pullers get in the way every now and then. and takes some time, finding just the right angle of attack, to get a good grip and once you find that spot. everything just pops out / off.
