I have had some success. I have not had/spent a lot of time on this project, but I was able to put a headlamp on and ride a few hundred feet last night :D

There was TONS of caked glue on the wheels; My Uncle thought they had not been completely cleaned in probably 30 years... I got them cleaned to bare aluminum. Took a while with soft nylon brushes, acetone, and Goo-Off. On the second wheel, I used a brass wire wheel on grinder motor to get the bulk off, but finished with gentler methods to protect the metal and finish.

I removed the axles and cleaned the bearings. The existing grease was solid. I cleaned up the hubs. They could use some polish, but it is hard to work around the spokes. I think I will do some fall riding, then do more detail work this winter.

I mounted sew-ups for the first time. I found nice Vittoria road tires for a reasonable price. Got three so I have a spare... I used Tofu brand tape instead of glue. We'll see how it works. Glue would be cheaper...

Everything seems to work, although the brake pads are shot. Cables work fine, shifters etc.

Hopefully I can take it around the block tomorrow eve.

Wierd working with sew up especially; we have a gravel drive, so I walked the bike to the pavement.
