Help with Neutral Switch on JD 4500

I posted this yesterday and can't find the thread today. I hope this post is in the right area.

Does anyone know how to adjust the neutral switch on a JD 4500 w/ Power reverse? I have to jiggle the handle to start and can't get off the seat in neutral without the engine stopping. I tried an adjustment on the shifter and the neutral switch seems to be activated/adjusted elsewhere.

Sure sounds more like a "repair" than "owning/operating" to me.

This may not be a help because I have a 4400 HST. On the HST the neutral safety switch is not adjustable. You can adjust the neutral position of the HST but you are advised to do that only if the tractor creeps in the neutral position under full rpm. I replaced my switch and that fixed my problem (wouldn't start some of the time). I'll try to look the power reverser up in my service manual this weekend if you haven't found a solution by then.

Thinking this was a repair and not a maintenance item, I called the JD Dealer. They seemed just as confused stating this was not a common problem. It seems to have more to do with the play (or position) of the shifter than the switch. I guess I will bring in the tractor and see if they can find a fix. Thanks to all for replying.
