Just bought a 96' Cub Cadet 2130 with 192 hours on it. I think I got a fairly good deal on it for $150.00. It had no air in any of the tires and a dead battery, so I wasn't able to test it before I bought it. After getting some air in the tires and a charge on the battery I find that the PTO is not working.

I noticed the fuse was blown so I replaced it. After putting the fuse in I started to smell a strange oder and the battery started hissing, the fuse popped.

Has anyone else had these same symtoms? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks - Zyk

I forgot to mention. For some reason, when I have the PTO switch off and the parking brake on, getting out of the seat still trips the seat safty. Not sure if this is a related issue or something seperate.

Thanks for any help!

Un fortunately it sounds like someone was in a playing with the wires to eliminate the safety switches. It will be hard to tell where the error is but you do definitely have a short some where. I try to look for the cob jobs off the start and see what has been done to try and find the problem.
