I am having a few issues with my Mitsubishi D1800 tractor and I would love it if some of you guys might be able to help. I appreciate anyone who is willing to read all my issues here! Here are my issues:
1. A couple months ago when I use the tractor for more than a few minutes, the coolant sizzles out of the radiator cap at the top of the radiator. For a while I thought the engine was overheating. But then a buddy of mine who has worked on the tractor with me said that he now believes it is as simple as a bad radiator cap, and the springs in the cap itself have just worn down and it's staying completely sealed. So I've been all over the place trying to find a match for a radiator cap that will fit my radiator, and I've had no success at all. I checked a few places locally that stock parts like that and had to return each cap I purchased because it doesn't fit on my radiator. I also called Southern Global Tractor where I've ordered parts before, and they didn't have anything available that would fit my tractor either. Can anyone help me locate the silly radiator cap for this tractor????
2. Another issue I'm having is the throttle does not stay completely set anymore and so as I'm using the tractor, especially when I'm bush hogging, I have to hold the hand throttle lever the entire time to keep it at the RPM I want it. If I let go, the RPM's will just slowly die down, and as time as went by it, dies down lower and lower now if I dont' hold the lever the whole time. It is like the cable itself needs to be tightened or something, or possibly replaced.
3. When I bought this tractor the foot throttle pedal (if that is the correct word) located on the right side by the brake pedals did not work because the cable had been cut to disconnect it from working altogether. I have no idea why it was cut at one point. Someone told me I could buy some bicycle cable or something and can rehook it back up, but honestly I have no idea how to know if I"m buyign the correct cable, or how to reconnect it. I would like to be able to control the engine with my foot and not have to use he hand throttle all the time.
4. And lastly, I have had no left brakes since I bought this tractor. For all I know, the brake is actually missing on the left side. I took the wheel off with a friend of mine, and tried to take apart the cylinder where the brake pad is in. But we had a lot of trouble breaking the seal on the housing where the brakes sit in, and we felt like we were going to brake something if we forced it. Can someone tell me how I actually take the housing apart to get to the brakes and check them? It is basicly two pieces that fit together and are sealed.
Again, thank you for anyone who takes the time to help me with me any of these issues!
