Help with my Kioti Hauler

Ok guys, I know this is not a GMC forum, but I also know you guys are smart and experienced in most things motorized.

My GMC Kioti Hauler (K2500, 1993), is having brake light trouble.

My brake lights only work when my right blinker is turned on.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think my brake light switch on the brake pedal is fine as my trailer brake controller is working.

Any help or any points in a direction to get help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you lost a ground somewhere.

is this problem on the truck or the trailer??? if it is the truck, check the ground for the RH lights, if it is the trailer check the ground on the truck side of the trailer plug, the trailer side of the plug and by the lights and brakes.

Thanks guys.

Believe it or not, everything goes through the directional switch in the column. Took the wheel off, pulled out the directional switch and replaced, right as rain now.

I couldn't figure it out, found a post on the web (as usual) and it all became clear.
