Planters Help with John Deere 3pt 2 row 246/247 corn planter

Hi all,
Please Help. New to the site and don't know if anyone can help with planting discs info. I just bought a John Deere 3pt 2 row 246/247 corn planter older model with plates Y2637B . Can anyone tell me if these plates can be used with sweet corn or should i be looking for different plates and what number. Please help if you know any info it is much appreciated. thanks.

Thanks for the info . I need some more answers than what i can find in the publication.

My info shows the Y2637B to have cell dimensions 0.563 long X 0.188 deep X 0.313 thick. The .188 depth probably prevents the planting of sweet corn. I also show Y2637b to be a bar type plate and wasn't aware it would fit a 246 planter. I have a JD 71 flexi planter and have quite a bit of info on planter plates. I have also looked at some of the later (less than 50+-60 years old) 246/247 and they all appear to take the same plate as my 71. I would be happy to send my info via E-Mail if desired. E-Bay has been a good source for plates for me. Also Lincoln ag still sells lustran (plastic) plates.

I would love to get as much info as possible. I am new to the planting world and need as much help as i can get. The 246/247 that i have has large wheels on the back. I don't know if this is an indacation of the age.
