John Deere 110 TLB
Hi, I have found lot of useful info here over the years so thanks to all who contribute to the site! Thought I had posted before but couldn't find the login so made new.

I have a 110 Tractor Loader Backhoe, I believe it is a 2006 if that matters. Has been a great machine and we mostly use as loader / forklift and backhoe. But last year my son used the 110 with implements for our old green tractor that isn't running. He used a tool bar with rips and a tiller. Unfortunately couple things went bad. He shrapped the outer PTO sleeve on the tiller so I will have to replace.

More concerning to me the implements slightly damaged the frame of the 110. Possibly this was because I had previously shrapped the anti sway things that came with the 3P top and tilt kit for the JD 110. Not sure on that, never did figure out how to use those things well and one of them blew apart while I mowed with a JD brush hog. A small auger and the big brush hog are the only 3P things I usually run.

It seems like the implements are banging the lower arms of the 3P into the frame. They bent the rear most plates of the frame which then made it so the backhoe couldn't go back on. You can see in the photo the slot that this plate goes into to help align the backhoe as you back up to it and it got bent outward towards the Rt rear wheel. Left side same thing. We bent them back but I don't want to keep bending the frame. Is this just happening because I broke the anti sway things and I need to buy new parts and learn to use correctly? Or is it some other factor? Maybe there is a better anti sway solution now? 2nd and 3rd pics show the anti sway stuff I have and what I broke. I believe it is part # AM126933 for $118 at Weingartz. I see in their diagrams a couple of other anti sway setups that look different, not sure if those work on my year model or are better or worse etc. Thanks in advance for any help!

It looks like the implement was allowed to move side to side beating up the tractor. Was a pin inserted into the the stabilizer links (anti sway) on each side? (The pin locks the 2 sliding stabilizer parts together so they become essentially rigid.)

Some coincidence- I had a similar issue to yours just a month ago.

I've owned my 110TLB since about 2004. Until March I hadn't had the backhoe off for likely a decade. Took it off without much work, and I couldn't find my stabilizer bars. (just like the ones you have pictured) I bought a replacement set of chain style with turnbuckle and I like them much better.

I put a 84" box blade on the 3 point and went to work. Everything was going good until I tried to back up with the blade down to fill in a hole. The Cat 1 pin on my box blade was bent towards the rear, and as my 3 point lift arm pushed back it slide off the pin, breaking the lynch pin, and jamming the other side up and into the exact same frame component you're showing in the picture. Mine was bent considerably more than your photo shows. I tried bending it back, even tried using heat to help, but no luck. I cut the extension off with a sawzall. Backhoe installation was just as easy as before.

These are the stabilizer chains I used. Much easier to install and remove than the factory bars. Amazon.com: 159-425 New Universal 7/16" Chain Adjustable Stabilizer w/Nut & Lock Washer: Industrial & Scientific

I find 2 of the the factory retainer rings a royal PITA to install on the pins.

I too have had my 110 TLB since very early release. It has served me really well. So much so, instead of including a backhoe with our 2020 4066R, we kept the 110 TLB! :)

I take the slack out of the stabilizers (by moving the implement side to side)before pinning them. Seem to work well.

Thanks so much Bryan. I will order those from Amazon right now. Am I correct I need 2 of them? And do they come with good instructions how to fit them? I don't want to repeat same thing I apparently did with the stock ones of using them wrong and breaking them.

Thanks Joey. And yeah, I am in same boat as you, I love the 110 as a loader / forklift and backhoe, it has helped me do so much over these 15 years or whatever I have had it. I am considering whether to give up on fixing the old 2640 and just buy a newer JD without a backhoe for the stuff I want 3P for. I would love to have a cab for jobs like mowing but man they get pricey in a hurry! the 4066R looks sweet, enjoy!

Yes, you'll need 2. They are not left-right dependent. They are simple enough to install, but you'll need to cut a few links off each chain. I used a band saw. The opposite end bolts right up to your 3 point arm in the same hole that the factory stabilizers bolt.

There are no instructions with them.

silverbear, I longed for a cab for 12 twelve years snow blowing my driveway. That had everything to do getting the 4066R with a cab! :) It is WAY nicer snow blowing in an enclosed cab with heat! :) :)

I will admit, in the woods the open station 110 TLB has it's advantages. Never did I think I'd have 2 tractors.

Bryan I finally got a chance to get the backhoe off and try attaching these things you nicely suggested. The shackle and pin provided don't seem to fit, temporarily I have it rigged with a bolt and I will get a pin the right size as it's a pain to tighten down there but I would like to check if I have this rigged basically right?
Do I actually need to cut the chain or can I just let those extra links hang?
And how tight do you want them to be? Thanks in advance!

Yeah for me I want the cab due to the heat not cold. Definitely being able to jump down without opening the door is better for a lot of jobs though. It's things like mowing fields or other jobs that involve a long, hot, dusty, diesel-y day that make me want the air conditioned cab! It would also be nice to have the noise reduction and the stereo!
