Help with getting rid of Deer flys

Thanks for the good ideas. Im going to try the blue sticky solo cup and see if that works.

Marketed as bird repellent, it comes in a tube is real sticky or tacky. Rural King carries it. I have trouble with deer flies also and have made a few traps with Tanglefoot and a blue Solo cup.

Ordered some Tanglefoot from Amazon and will give it a try. Hopefully the neighbors wont classify me as insane for wearing a blue plastic cup on my head while walking the dogs. :flightattendant:

Between a solo cup hat, a manitoba trap, and now the uber-awesome umbrella invention (quick, bestow it with a suitable name!), I think there is hope of conquering these hungry little jerks.

Umbrellagirl, Thanks for the eye opener...I am still have good luck with our local flys drowning them selves trying to eat the maat bait in the flyjar i bought at TSC. But i will try some of your ideas for the pesky Horseflys that are being very good at back biting?
