Help with Ford 1700 headlight.

Hi All!

Noticed I had a headlight out. I rebuilt my grill over a decade ago, and I remembered the bezel was held on by an odd spring clip.

I managed to pop the bezel off, but can’t figure out how to get it all back together again.

Anyone have access to instructions?

The info is in the Ford 1000 series service manual. Can be found free on the web at tractorforumDOTcom in the Resource Manager section.

Howdy,

I have done one bulb change many years ago. I went to my archive and found a reference pic.There was a retaining plate for for screw that kept the light in place. I remember some spring loaded clips as well. It was a very quick and painless work. Look at the pic below. Take a pic of yours as it might be different. I also have a PDF from the owners manual for your benefit.

I scoured that forum and downloaded the only service manual I could find. I went thru it all, but could not find any references on the headlights. What
am I missing?

Thanks for posting the pdf. That is just what I needed. I had forgotten you have to remove the light to remove the lens. Can you tell me where I can download that manual?

I bought the IT shop manual FO-44 from Tractor Supply 20 years ago under $20. I have it scanned for the ease of use. it is a large file and not suited for
email attachment.What I posted was a page from Owner's manual that I got when I bought my 1700. I have that scanned as well. Would be happy to share sections you need here.
