Help with a JD D140

ok i have a problem with my deere if I start the the pto/mower deck it will run and will cont. to do so until 3 to 5 min of mowing then the blades will stop but tractor will keep running fine.So I was thinking my belt was slipping so i replaced it but it does the same thing after changing the belt .Now I am thinking it might be the PTO itself anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

When the mower stops running, can you turn the PTO switch off and then will it restart with the PTO switch?

Yes i can turn the PTO switch off after it is running. It will restart after about 10 minutes of being off.
