Help wiper blade wont fit vehicle !

My girlfriends car that I tend to drive a lot too is a 2000 VW new beetle. I went to replace the drivers side wiper blade and the new one would not clip on!! It's not the pin style it's the style that slides into the loop and clicks. The old wiper blade was ALSo a rain x but it fit fine. I have not a clue why the new one does not fit ok.

The loop on the wiper arm looks wider than on other cars. The old blade was torn as well, I used a higher strength rated zip tie on the blade to secure it as I had no other choice.

I only know of the two different wiper blade fits thank you

That is what's so weird !!

The car has the j hook design but it's 1/8 inch wider than any other car or truck I have seen. The blade fits loosely in the insert so I zip tied it

Sometimes there's a different connector in the package, and you can swap them out for whichever one fits better...

it slipped my mind with it being 0F out. Thanks for the tip I will check! I tried to get the connector off the old blade but it was permanently attached.

Awesome awesome!! Took the VW inside a friends garage with my salamander and was able to retime the passengers side wiper blade!! It had been scratching the hood and traveling inside the cowl. I moved the wiper blade higher up on the windshield as I have lots of experience timing Volvo truck wiper blades, and motors along with assembly's.

I could not the drivers side wiper arm loose. I even used pry bars. I will borrow or just go and purchase a wiper arm puller tool. They come in handy for other things as well.

I was able to take the wiper blade clip from the old wiper blade and use it on the new wiper blade!! How nice! The new wiper blade only came with one clip. Never knew about the different clips available but now I know

Very true !! Wiper arm pullers Also work for battery post pullers. I will need to do the drivers side eventually because it still sits 1/4 inch on the cowl.
