I am hoping that someone can shed some light on a tractor that was imported into the UK some years ago it was imported by the company IMT UK. This tractor is now in need of some repairs but without knowing the make or model number I am unable to find the required parts to repair it. I would prefer to get parts that fit rather than start modifying it, the photo that I have included is the tractor when new (1990 ish). Sadly it looks much neglected now.
Regards.
John.

I think might be serbian not chinese -- looks like IMT is still in business in Yugoslavia -- got an engine plate? Any identifying features that make you think it is chinese?

I contacted a former IMT importer in Dorset UK, after reveiwing the photo he imformed me that it wasn't from Belgrade, but was a chinese tractor. Have looked at lots of images on the web and it does kind of resemble Yanmar, I need to look closer for a manufacturing plate once the years of dirt and grease have been washed off.

It does look Korean or Chinese versus eastern European (tires, fenders hood etc.) Funny-- when I first looked at the picture I thought Yanmar too. Can the dealer tell you what they rebadged?

Thanks for the link to the IMT info, I checked through all of the details and can confirm that it doesn't tie up with any of the IMT spec's. This tractor is a 2 cylinder diesel and according to the data I have read IMT were three and four cylinder units. To aid the identification process I moved the tractor out from the garage today and took some more photos. You'll notice the bonnet is removed, this was done as the previous owner had modified it and I didn't want this confusing the issue. I did notice that on the gear shift cover there does appear to be chinese / japanese symbol, and on one if the side cases sems to be the letters 'IL' (see photos)

Sorry about that forgot to attatch photos to previous post. Also you may notice that the front wheels are not original, these have been adapted from a Kubota tractor.

The IL you see is actually an H and L for High and Low range. If you rotate your pic #0544 90 degrees clockwise you will see there are arrows just to the left of the H&L. As far as identifying your import I can't help you. If you check this link they have manuals and parts. perhaps one of the pics on the manuals looks like yours or maybe a phone call to them will help you figure it out.
