- Kubotas B2710, M6800, L6060 cab, Volvo EC excavator, 2 ZTRs and various implements.
I began with tractor (near 70 hp) and rear finishing mower. Then got a B2710 Kubota and still used rear finishing mower. Was mowing about two acres our house and about same at mother in laws both most weeks from about mid May till mid October. Then about four years of that bought a 52 inch ztr mower to trim with and still mower with hydro tractor and 72 inch rear finish mower. Shocked when I got good with ztr to cut about 25% of my mowing time out. Year 20 inch narrower deck and not a fast mower. Now use bigger and larger ztr and have cut some more time off but have much better and easier ride. No way for lawn can tractor cut as fast as a good ztr. However my first ztr was over $4,000 and my newest which is four years old was near $10,000. No way would I recommend you split your money between tractor and ztr, would suggest you use tractor and mower (maybe you could find good used mower, ztr here has put lots of them on the market) and if later wanted ztr would then consider it.
Looking at the pictures do not see any real grades a ztr would have issue with but you get much of a grade and it wet, ztr can be tough. Also you can mow such as what the land now has with ztr but sure would hate to. Also ztr is made to mow a lawn, not pasture type grass and not even lawn grass if not mowed when it should be.
As I have mentioned I have a B2710 Kubota which is a compact and for what you are looking to do would suggest that size tractor. Never have even sat on subcompact but think limited options in equipment and some have less lift capacity in height when there will be times you will want or need more than any tractor has as you bog or such.
