Help! sc 24000 will not start

I just bought a sc 2400 and after only eight hours now it will not start all we get is a clicking sound! Is this a common problem? Is it me or is it my new machine?

Are you certain that your parking brake is set?

Yes we have gone over the manual step by step and the parking brake is set in the correct position for starting. We did not have this issue when the dealer brought the machine and it started and ran just fine for several days and now all we get is a clicking sound when we turn the key to start.

Well IMO it's likely either the kill switch under the seat or whatever switch is activated by setting the brake.

Try pressing the brake with your foot firmly while starting the tractor.

I seem to remember reading somewhere there was a simialr issue on a 2400
and it was just the parking brake switch.

Regardless I don't think it's a big issue. Call your dealer and have them pick up the tractor and fix it.


These really seem to be good reliable tractors. But stupid things happen sometimes.
