Help: post hole digger coupler won稚 engage and stay on PTO shaft!

I知 having a horrible time trying to get this couple to engage the PTO shaft all the way and stay on?
I used this post hole digger in my old Yanmar 2210BD using and overrun clutch

I bought a new Yanmar 359YT and for the life of me can not get this coupler to shade all the way in and engage and stay on. I even took the couple half shaft off the post hole digger to make sure it was going on straight with nothing binding and still it won稚 go on all the way?

Is this couple a difficult type are there better options. ? I need to get my fence in and I知 not having any luck !

So you are pulling the collar back while pushing it on and waiting for the click? Sometimes these shafts can be a pain..

Yes pushinvvtgst collar back as far as it will go and it just won’t seat all the way back

It shouldn't go "all the way back", once you pull back the collar and start it on the shaft, let the collar go and push it slowly, when it clicks your done.. The indentation in the middle of the spline on your tractor is where the shaft needs click in..

But even if I’m pushing it too far I release the collar and it does not click it stay on. I see what your saying but after a long day I’m just took ibuprofen and a martini so I’m done today I will try that in the AM but I think it’s something else. Maybe the bearings are not releasing?

Tomorrow after your Martini, start it with the collar back and then wiggle it holding the driveshaft with both hands, see what happens. Make sure your shaft has grease on it.
