i have a older cub 1996 2140 i am on my 3rd electric pto the 1st one wore out the 2nd one started smoking and burned up i had to cut it off the crank turned blue. today the 3rd one started smoking and had a burning electrical smell and the part of the crank i can see is turning blue. any ideas or am i doing something wrong? thanks

I looked at the PTO clutch for your model and it is one of the type that is non repairable and non adjustable, so it's not likely anything you are doing wrong. The only thing I noted was that 2140's with engine code 11187 use a spacer behind the clutch, and ones with engine code 11317 do not use the spacer. If that checks out and your belt tension is OK, it looks like you are doing things right on your end and just winding up with junk clutches.
