I was looking for a riding mower to replace my aging mower. I had been looking at the jd 100 series, think they call them LA series this year and range up into the mid 2k range. None on the light jd's with hst can pull and ground engaging or heavy carts. Today looked at a Sears model 6500 that is 2.4k with 48-52" cut on sale with slight rebate. It is designed with it's auto trans heavy enough to pull a small disk with its hst. Any advice...........any one have one of these???

Thanks

I have a 50 inch Craftsman GT with 22HP Kohler engine and it does fine with wheel weight's on it. Has plenty of pushing and pulling power.

From what I read on this or another forum, the 48" deck is possibly better than the 50" or 52". May be worth taking a look at both before buying. The difference in width in mowing won't mean much, but it might in transporting the tractor.

Thanks, I ordered it with a 48 " deck. It will be a week before it arrives. I can't wait.
