Help New Tractor Owner CK25HST

I've read quite a bit on the TractorByNet forum as I tried to figure out what small tractor to buy to manage our 20 acre property. I found a 2007 CK25HST with FEL, and a few implements for sale within 200 miles. The tractor only had 270 hours on it, and looked like it had been taken care of.

I've learned to run it and have been trying out some of the things I can do with it, like grading our gravel driveway. One thing that concerns me now is the operation of the FEL. I'd like your advice.

I used the FEL to unload the implements from a trailer with the aid of a strong chain. When the FEL is loaded, even if the revs are higher, 1500, the bucket slowly tilts down and the FEL arms lower, but more slowly. It is like watching the air slowly go out of a balloon. When I am attempt to correct it, the FEL seems to jump up from a short gentle pull on the joystick.

Is my experience normal or do I have a problem? If I have a problem, what do I need to do to investigate it further or fix it.

Nope, you have a problem. The hydraulics are leaking down, do you see any fluid leaks anywhere(cylinders/fittings)?

With my CK20 HST TBL when using the loader I try to keep the RPM's over 1500. If you are trying to lift anything heavy at less than 1500 RPM I wonder if you ought to rev the engine up to about 2300 to 2800 rpm to improve the loader performance and speed. What is the weight of the objects you are lifting at 1500 RPM or less? Happy tractoring!

There is a good chance that the loader control valve needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Adjusting your rpms won't fix your auto rolling bucket or the falling of the fel arms. As MotorSeven and MntViewRanch advised, your loosing hydraulic pressure somewhere. Being that the bucket and fel arms are both affected, I'd guess it's something common to both functions such as a common line or leak within the loader control valve.

Are you near a Kioti dealer? Since you are not yet very familiar with the tractor you could take it to a dealer and ask them to check it out. They will be able to tell you what is going on and they can also look over the rest of the tractor while you are there.

Before you spend the money on the loader valve, purchase the packing kits for both lift cylinders and tilt cylinders (Less than $300.00 a cylinder I think), piston and cap packing. Repack and see if it problem persist.

Then I would go to working on the valve.

The cylinders are easy to repack if you have the tools - spanner wrench primary tool needed. The best advice is get it to a dealer if you are not familiar with hydraulics.

I don't think I am near a Kioti dealer. I am in Eastern Montana. The Kioti website has a dealer locator, but it has a mileage restriction on it, and nothing shows up when I put my zip code in. There is both a Kubota Dealer and a Deere dealer in Billings. Would either of those be helpful to me if I need to take it in for service?

Where would I buy these type of parts? Would I buy them from the dealer? As part of the purchase, I received a Workshop Manual for the tractor, and a manual for the KL130 too. Where should I look to find out more about this procedure?

If this is indeed the case can you give me some idea how much this would cost for the parts and labor? Is it realistic that I could do this myself as a new tractor owner. I've worked on cars before they became 100% electronic, and have a little skill in repairing or replacing things around the house; dishwasher, in sink disposer, changing locks on doors, that kind of thing.
