HELP! New Holland TC35D has NO steering!

Did you check the power steering oil level? Are you trying to steer it when the tractor isn't running?

just glancing at the diagram for that machine or a similar one.. looks like a orbital setup... ie.. full hyds.

thuis i'd look at pump and fluid first..

@ RickB....Tractor is running and fluid is full.

@Soundguy....the fluid level is good. I don't have any diagrams to look at, but from what I've read I'm worried that one of the PST pumps/gears are not getting the fluid or worse. My problem is where are these located on the engine and how do I check them out to determine if there in lies the problem. I also know that the hydraulic fluid was a bit low, but even with all fluids completely filled the steering does not engage the wheels. =(

You do know that the P/S is a separate, dedicated system? Open the hood. There is a black canister to the right of the engine aft of the radiator. Pull the cap and make sure oil is 1/4" or so up the dipstick.

As RickB points out, the PS is a separate pump and isolated system on the TC35. However, the same gear drives both the main hydraulic pump and the PS pump right off the engine. I think if there was a gear problem, you'd hear a noise, unless the drive shaft is sheared. Also, if you raise the front wheels with the FEL, you should be able to turn the front wheels with the steering wheel because the steering motor is made to back-pump. That way, if you ever tow the tractor, you will still have steering, though very hard. I think there is a good chance one of your lines is plugged and the PS pump is not getting fluid. That goes back to RickB 's first analysis and the pump would act like the reservoir is empty. Another issue might be that the PS cylinder has blown internal seals and fluid is bypassing from the extend to the retract side. If you raise the front wheels and can easily move the tire left/right, then there is a chance the cylinder is at fault.

I just did as jinman suggested, and it looks bad to me. I turned the steering to the right but the wheel turned completely to the left and stayed there no matter which direction I turned the steering wheel. What might this mean?

if this has a thru rod stering cyl, or a regular da piston.. pull the return hose and pressurize the other side of the cyl and see if you get oil out the port from a bypass.. then pressurize broken hose side to see if there is ANY flow at all.

cando the test both sides.

standard way to test a cyl .. not specifically ps cyl..e tc..

I one time had a filter come apart and i picked piece sof gunk out of the orbital valve for hours..
