help - mid pto on bx1 500

Checking over a used tractor with 395 hours.
I can get a tiny bit of side to side play from the mid pto.
I'm just talking a hair. Its not leaking at all.
The rear pto doesn't have any play.
I can tell a difference between them....ist just a wee bit.

Is that normal for a used machine? Could someone else check theirs for me?

I just checked mine. I get a tiny bit of play in and out. Don't know if that's what you mean by side to side. I have almost 700 hrs use on pto with mower.

what i mean by side to side...i can get a tiny bit of play if i give it a bit of pressure left and right.
i also get a bit more in and out but i figured that direction would be normal.

Yeah I checked left/right and up/down also, but there was no play at all.

i just checked my brother inlaws on his bx. its exactly same as mine.
so it may just be that im imagining a little play or its normal.
i did talk to a guy this morning that i now who had worked for 30 years on tractors, and GTs.
he said the mid pto turns at a higher rpm and is built in with an extremely tiny bit of play...he said for heat loss.
he also said its hard to detect by hand.
