Suzane I will give it a shot.
Political: The influx of parts and pre-assemblies from economically disadvantaged countries as well as China, Japan, and India as related to imports(WTO). The manufacturing of parts in foreign countries verses made in America. The loss of American jobs in manufacturing tractor parts once made in America(ie Ford/New Holland, John Deere, McCorrmick). Flip-side, companies who assemble tractors in the US are providing jobs through assemble, sales and service.
Social: Social as related to the diverse demographics, education, and financial. With the introduction of the CUT and Sub-CUT as well as the utility tractor it is no longer farmers only who buy tractors but doctors, attorneys, manufacturing, self-employed, and hobby enthusiast across the USA that buy tractors. From Rural America to Suburbia. People with very diverse backgrounds who my pass each other on the street and not speak now have a common thread where the long time farmer and the attorney may pass each other at a dealership talk tractors and equipment as though they have been friends for years. Overall tractor owners are a great group of people who love their country and fellow man and will go out of their way to help one another.
Economical: This would relate to and combine both the political and social statments.
Natural: Not sure what you are asking for here.
Technological: Todays large farm tractors have GPS systems, weather satellite links, computers, digital readouts, and most of the conveniences of some high end cars. The smaller size utility and CUT have some of the same options availiable. They are user friendly which has greatly increased sales to people who you would never imagine owning a tractor.
Some people like the technological advances and some don't.
Myself, I grew up on a small, what you would call now, hobby farm. I have been around tractors all my life. I enjoy getting on my tractor and leaving the world's troubles behind, talking to anyone who has an interest in tractors or agriculture. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology, my wife a Masters Degree. I worked and paid my on way through college. I work a stressful job in Aerospace sales and as soon as my son gets his degree I hope to simplify my life and have a small Agri-Business going.
I hope this answered some of your questions.
