Sorry. I came into it expecting a PHD and, when confronted with a grain drill, had no clue about it at all.

Don't remember the model number but we used one like that back in the early-mid '60s. Check your local JD dealer, they would know. BobG in VA

Indydirtfarmer told me from the get go it was a FFB and I am pretty sure at this point he is right!

That is/was the best grain drill made in it's day. Deere sold a few million of 'em. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I used to have a drill like that except mine was a Van Brunt and had a galvanized seed box and grass box on it. Got to love old iron. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's a Van Brunt drill too. Van Brunt was a company that Deere bought out. They made grain drills and fertilizer spreaders. Deere retained the Van Brunt name until the early 60's.

Some had painted seed box, some had bare galvanized, some had green lids, while others had yellow. Still, they're all about the same basic model.
