Ok, I give up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a 4210. I need to do some work under the seat, and in order to get the cover off, I need to remove the gear range knob. I can not figure out how to get it off without possibly destroying it. It seems to have a yellow "cap" that may - or may not - snap off. I'm stumped!

Help!?!?!?

I believe you just need to pry out that cap (plug) and remove the nut underneath. Check with your dealer's service dept. to make sure, or stop by and look at the parts breakdown of that part.

I often get answers at JDParts

You can look at the exploded drawings at home...

Pasting this from my Tech Manual for my 4410. Same for the 4210.

1. Remove cap(s) on shift knob(s) (A) to left of seat.
Remove cap screw(s) and knob(s).

Thanks to all - you were all correct, and I did take Mike's advise and found the diagram at jdparts.

This weekend I hope to install the 3rd SCV kit!
