2010 Kubota M5040HD
I recently bought a grapple, that I would like to hook up to my rear remotes (I won't be using it very often, and couldn't justify the cost of a dedicated loader 3rd function). I'm trying to buy the right hoses, fittings, and quick couplers that I need online, but I'm having trouble identifying the quick couplers on my tractor. I called two kubota dealers, and both gave me different answers. One said I had an ISO "Type B", the other said I have AG quick couplers... I'm hoping you guys can help me identify which I have.

The receptacle (female) coupler has a "nipple" on the inside, that appears to be roughly 1/4" wide at the base, narrowing towards the tip (but doesn't come to a complete point).

I also am not sure what size this is, I'm assuming it is a 1/2" coupler? I should have brought a tape measure with me when I took the pictures, I can take some measurements if I need to.

Thanks in Advance.

I'll bet ISO male tips will plug right in and work. They work on my M4900.

Looks like a 1/2" ISO 7241-1A fitting which should interchange with a ISO 5675 ("Pioneer 4000 series") fitting. That is what our L3830 has on the back.

Is there a definitive way of identifying the type of quick connection? Does the Nipple mean anything? or Do both types (ISO type B and AG) have the Nipple on the receptacle end?

Thanks.

Edit: Just read Aarons answer again, and realized he said that he said the 7241-1A will interchange with the ISO 5675 (AG). So I guess that means they all look basically the same??

What am I missing here? What is the difference in these three standards that I see mentioned the Most Often (ISO 5675, 7241-1A, and 7241-1B)?

All Kubota remotes are ISO and interchange with Pioneer style.

Look at http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/v/vspfiles/downloadables/sizechart.pdf The placement of the locking ring is different in the 7241-1A and the 7241-1B connectors

Edit: ISO 5675 and 7241-1A are the same shape, but ISO 5675 uses a ball instead of a nipple.

Thanks, that helps a lot!

The PDF from DHH doesn't have the ISO 5675 coupler, but I guess thats because the body of the connecter is the same as the ISO 7241-1A.

One more question re the Ball -vs- Nipple: Is there a ball on both ends of the ISO 5675 connection or only one?

Same question for the ISO 7241-1A coupler: Is there a nipple on both ends (male and female) or only one end?

Thanks for your help.

In the simplest of terms, you have a "1/2 inch pioneer style". Tell that to most any equipment dealer and you'll get the right coupling. The difference in the ball vs nipple style is that the nipple style are for higher flow applications. They will interchange with the others however.

A littel off-thread, but you mentioned not investing on the dedicated grapple circuit to save resources.

I had a Fasse joystick circuit with button added to operate a WR Long grapple and would find it harder and less efficient, to operate it using a circuit lever

Just a thought
