Your steering orbital has to have a power beyond circuit to use the flow out of the unit, otherwise you will blow the seals at a minimum or more likely the case apart. They are out there but not very popular. Like JJ said sounds like you have other problems. As far as T ing into a open system, that will not work. The oil will seek the path of least resistance, it has to be in series. CJ

I just put an orbital steering valve in on the hydraulic steering conversion on my old ford 4500 which works perfectly and the return from your steering valve just needs to go back to the reservoir. If you are not steering there wont be any return fluid so you cant use the return for other work since there wont be any pressurized fluid there. Mine had no pressure beyond port either.

Some steering units do have PB or excess flow.

My Power-Trac works that way, and the steering has priority.

When I steer, I lose the ability to lift curl.
